    This full-time faculty position is on-campus and in-person. 


    The Department of Nutritional Sciences at Texas Christian University invites applications for the position for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor beginning August 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service. We are seeking to expand our strengths in undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, collaborative and interdisciplinary research, leadership and service. 


    QUALIFICATIONS
    The tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor will hold an earned doctorate or terminal degree in nutrition/food/dietetics or related field. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of three years as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN), with ongoing maintenance of registration, and eligibility for licensure in Texas.  However, non-RD/RDN candidates will be considered with adequate nutrition-related background and experience. Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service. The Department is particularly interested in candidates who complement existing teaching and research expertise.  The successful candidate’s teaching schedule is subject to Departmental needs.   Candidates for Associate Professor must have an established record of significant external support for research.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Department of Nutritional Sciences and advise graduate and undergraduate research; Actively pursue external funding for research; Conduct, present and publish peer-reviewed academic research; Develop and maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students;  Contribute to existing courses and develop curriculum in faculty member’s area of expertise; Serve on committees both internal and external to the University; Participate in processes to maintain dietetic education accreditation; Serve as a team member to positively impact visibility of Department of Nutritional Sciences; Provide academic advising; Engage in professional development and all other duties as assigned.
    This on-campus, in-person position will ideally begin August 2024, but the position will remain open until filled.
