Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a collaborative, team-oriented educator to join the University of Scranton’s fully accredited 5-year Master’s level Occupational Therapy program that is in transition to an OTD program. This is a 9-month open rank faculty position beginning January 2019. The new faculty member will join a team of diverse, accomplished, and passionate educators. There is extensive administrative support for teaching, service and scholarship, a reasonable teaching load and class sizes, and extraordinary research labs with the latest in technology.

Required Qualifications
•     Earned non-clinical doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD) or ABD in occupational therapy or related field
•     Eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in Pennsylvania

Preferred Qualifications
•     Record of teaching effectiveness (experience in an OTD program a plus)
•     Record of service
•     Demonstrated area of clinical expertise
•     Ability to facilitate faculty mentored student research

Occupational Therapy Department
The Occupational Therapy Department is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association and boasts a 97% one-year pass rate. Our faculty’s clinical, educational and research expertise represents a cross section of diverse practice areas across the developmental continuum in both traditional and contemporary practice areas. The Edward R. Leahy, Jr. Hall is a state-of-the-art center for rehabilitation education housing the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Exercise Science programs. It features many opportunities for research and creative programming:
•     3 Pediatric Rehab labs with Snoezelen Room
•     ADL apartment with simulated environments
•     Hand Rehab lab
•     Low Vision and Developmental Visual labs
•     Opportunities to collaborate with Physical Therapy and Exercise Science specialized labs including Motion Analysis and Body Composition Analysis
•     On-site, pro-bono clinic
