Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring a Registered Dietician/Health Educator to provide medical nutrition therapy, nutritional counseling and education to the students, faculty and staff within the university at the Daytona Beach Campus. This is a full-time, 9-month position.
Develop and maintain a healthy weight program for faculty, staff and students.
Promote wellness and healthy lifestyles by collaborating with various departments throughout the university.
Provides individual nutrition assessments, develops treatment plans, and provides individual nutrition consultations for students, faculty and staff.
Utilizes standardized medical nutrition therapy protocols and monitors effectiveness.
Considers client’s medical needs and dietary data for care plan development.
Tailors education strategies and therapeutic goals to client’s cultural, socioeconomic, psychosocial, religious, and other personal needs.
Schedules follow-up appointments and refers clients to on- and off-campus resources as needed.
Documents thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record and follows applicable regulatory agencies policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and education through analyzing outcome measures, clinical indicators, and patient satisfaction surveys.
Communicates clearly, professionally, and promptly with clients, external referral sources, and resources to which clients are referred.
Communicates with off-campus therapists and family members as needed.
Works directly with the Director of Health Services developing and planning events throughout the university.

Maintains a working knowledge of the charging process and billing procedures.
Assists in developing marketing plan for clinical nutrition services.
Participates in continuing education activities that enhance the delivery of medical nutrition therapy.
Seeks the latest information pro-actively.
Routinely assesses knowledge, skills, and abilities for self-development and goal setting.
Conducts literature searches as necessary.
Attends staff development programs and organizational planning days.
Other duties as may arise or as assigned by the Director of Health Services.
Completed a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree at a US regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) or the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Minimum of 3-5 years of work related experience.
Must be a Registered Dietician (RD)- passed a national examination by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Licensed Dietician status through the Florida Department of Health.
Must communicate effectively and collaboratively with other professional staff, faculty and student groups.
Ability to work in collaboration with other health care providers and community resources to provide comprehensive care sensitive to the needs of a diverse college-aged population in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines and confidentiality.
Ability to develop and implement University-wide initiatives to address issues related to student and employee nutrition needs.
Master’s degree preferred.
