Academic Career & Executive Search is pleased to assist North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T) in their search for Dean of the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences.  

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences.  
 
The Dean of the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences is the chief academic and administrative officer for the College. The Dean provides visioning in support of the university’s strategic plan and oversees the implementation of the plan. In addition to leading the College’s academic programs, the Dean is responsible for managing and allocating financial resources; fostering excellence in teaching, research and scholarship; supporting faculty and staff development; and building strong relationships with other universities, colleges, and the external community. The Dean reports to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Dean will have a unique opportunity to work with colleagues and stakeholders to align the mission and vision of the college with the mission and vision of the university. The college is expected to engage in strong, innovative interdisciplinary thinking, teaching, and research in both traditional and emerging disciplines.

The Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences offers degrees in Health Services Management, Speech, Kinesiology, Psychology, Social Work and Sociology, and Nursing through its School of Nursing. North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an 1890 land-grant, doctoral higher research (R2) institution and one of 17 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina System. The university’s learner-centered community develops and preserves intellectual capital through interdisciplinary learning, discovery, and community engagement. 
 
N.C. A&T’s enrollment of more than 12,500 makes it the largest historically black college and university (HBCU) in the nation, and the No. 1 Public HBCU as ranked by US News and World Report. N.C. Required Qualifications: 
  • Candidates must have an earned doctorate in one of the disciplines in the College. 
  • Candidates must bring a record of teaching, research/scholarship/creative activity, and professional accomplishments to qualify for appointment at the rank of professor with tenure.  
  • Candidates will have demonstrated budgeting, public relations, fundraising and personnel management experience.
