Academic Excellence in the Heart of Central Florida

Educating nurses since 1979, the UCF College of Nursing offers academic excellence from the baccalaureate to the doctorate in Central Florida and beyond with traditional classroom and online programs.

Our location is optimal – and only getting better. Within our palm-lined corridors in Orlando is a hub of healthcare, research and simulation activity. Eventually the College of Nursing will relocate to the 50-acre, state-of-the-art UCF Health Sciences campus at Lake Nona Medical City – a hub for medical innovation (see our future below).

Our faculty are renowned for their expertise and contributions to nursing science, and include multiple fellows of national organizations, six endowed chairs (the most at UCF), numerous certified advanced healthcare simulation educators and certified healthcare simulation educators, an advanced certified healthcare simulation operations specialist, a certified telehealth educator and provider, an internationally recognized computer scientist and engineer, a healthcare economist and a Sigma International Researcher Hall of Fame nurse.

Our programs are accredited and continually recognized among the nation’s best not only for academic excellence, grounded in evidence-based practice, but also a best value.

Our students are high-achievers who consistently surpass national and state averages on the NCLEX-RN and national nurse practitioner certification exams.

Our history includes being the first in Florida to offer an online RN to BSN degree, the first online PhD for nurse scientists, and first Healthcare Simulation graduate program.

Our future is bright. In July 2018, the College of Nursing, the College of Medicine, and the College of Health Professions and Sciences formed the UCF Academic Health Sciences Center. This unique center is transforming healthcare education, leveraging the strengths of one of the nation’s largest universities to foster innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration to make a greater collective impact.
