Dr. Skrzat’s research interests include developing a better understanding of the muscle physiological changes that occur in patients who are critically ill. By understanding this knowledge gap, more efficient and effective therapeutic interventions may be implemented, with the ultimate goal to optimize functional outcomes. Her current research project involves studying muscle fatigue and recovery of the knee extensors using surface electromyography in adults who are healthy and critically ill.
