Mbizo's research focuses on applying epidemiological and statistical methods to understanding underlying multi-level causes of health disparities in chronic diseases. These methods include the integration of emerging information technologies for chronic disease and health disparities solutions. He is interested in the role of personal, community and systems factors contribute to the health and health-seeking behaviors of people with chronic diseases among the underserved and marginalized. His work also extends to international health on HIV and gender-based violence and its public health impact.
