Hypernasality in Craniofacial Anomalies: Developed a technique, "Prolonged Nasal Cul-de-Sac with High Pressure Speech Acts (P.i.N.C.H.)," on reducing velopharyngeal surrender and hypernasality, after inducing a theory derived from an in-depth literature review, in 2000. The data-driven technique has been published, presented internationally, nationally, and statewide, and cited and described in a medical textbook edited by Joseph E. Losee, Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Director of the Cleft-Craniofacial Center at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh and Richard E. Kirshner, Pediatric Plastic Surgeon and Director of the Cleft Lip and Palate Program at The Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania entitled "Comprehensive Cleft Care," published by McGraw-Hill in 2009.
2. Compensatory Articulation in Craniofacial Anomalies: Developed a technique "Voice-Stretch-Glide (VSG)" in 2002 to eliminate maladaptive glottalization and coarticulation, a complex compensatory articulation disorder associated with craniofacial anomalies. Published and presented this technique statewide.
3. Voice Disorders: In 1999, developed treatment programs for hyperfunctional and hypofunctional voice disorders adapted from Joseph Stemple and Katherine Verdolini and monitored efficacy, clinically. Evaluate and treat diversity of clients from medically complex to professional celebrity performers and elite voice users.
