I am an interdisciplinary health researcher trained in public health and environmental health. I am passionate about issues spanning environmental change, human health, and inequity. My areas expertise include: environmental epidemiology, social and ecological determinants of health, water resource management, geographic information systems (GIS), interdisciplinary research, place-based approaches to health, and ecosystem approaches to health (ecohealth).
My research activities span the social, natural, and health sciences and aim to bring together multiple perspectives in order to comprehensively understand, and collaboratively address, complex human-environment issues. Using an interdisciplinary approach and a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, my current research activities focus on three core areas: (1) the impacts of ecosystem change on health, (2) climate change adaptation, (3) GIS and health. I am also interested in methodological, conceptual, and practical advances that support interdisciplinary research, integration, and collaborative action.
