Dr. Cressman’s research is driven by the need to understand how healthcare systems innovate to improve sustainability. Specifically, she investigates systems-level and societal impacts from innovation in cancer control including; targeted prevention, high-risk screening and risk-stratified diagnostics and treatments. She uses data from hospital, administrative, clinical trials and regulatory sources as well as patient experiences to build adoption and diffusion models for new cancer control technologies. Her quantitative methodology is rooted in health economics and operations management. She has a strong interest in the inclusion of adverse-risk subgroups in the assessment of new health technologies. Her research contributes to the academic fields of public-sector innovation and implementation sciences.
