Previously, Denise was an Academic Development Advisor (6 years) in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), a member of the AUT Academy (2019) and a recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching award (2016) and undertakes research in the fields of Teaching and Learning, student voice in higher education, Health & Physical Education, pedagogy, exercise interventions with children and youth.
