Research focuses on developing and validating computer-based models linking the basic biology of a disease and its epidemiology to population-based outcomes. Use of these models within a decision analytic framework to synthesize data, identify key knowledge gaps, and evaluate the clinical benefits, public health impact, and cost-effectiveness of alternative preventive and treatment interventions, Focusing overthe last several years on three viruses of major public health importance: human papillomavirus, human immunodeficiency virus, and hepatitis.
