The effect of physiotherapeutic interventions on neuromuscular performance is the focus of my research. Many of the studies compare injured and uninjured athletes related to a treatment regimen such as taping, dynamic soft tissue mobilization, trigger points, joint mobilization and joint position sense. For example: post-op ACL functional outcome measures; lower limb taping techniques that may influence performance and pain; shoulder strength in waterpolo players; lower limb kinetics and kinematics in different athletic populations including athletes, dancers, AFL players; golfers and volleyball players. Examining the influence different taping techniques in athletes with and without patellofemoral pain syndrome is one of the major research questions at the moment. However, the underlying premise in these research projects is an attempt to evaluate the scientific basis of why and how physical therapy interventions work
