Dr. Graves’ research interests and experience include the influence of physical activity on aging and the prescription of resistance training for the prevention and rehabilitation of orthopedic problems including, but not limited to, low-back pain. A recent publication is an edited text called Resistance Training for Health and Rehabilitation published by Human Kinetics (2002). In 1999, Dr. Graves was named Syracuse University’s United Methodist Scholar Teacher of the year. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and holds active fellowships in the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, and the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education
