My doctoral work will include study
in the area of health promotions in persons with Alzheimer’s
Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) in a Rehabilitation setting. I
plan to identify the unmet needs and later use the findings to
implement a program that will maintain health in the older aged
population with ADRD, working with an interdisciplinary team in
order to effectively address the healthcare needs of persons with
ADRD. I plan to focus on my professional leadership as a research
scholar within the long-term healthcare system, academic setting and
community. My research and practice trajectory will include the
study of culturally relevant strategies to further the science of
nursing care of older adults with ADRD. I am being mentored by Drs.
David W. Coon, Marianne McCarthy and Johannah Uriri-Glover
