Research and professional interests particularly related to experiential education, service-learning and the socialization of professional students. She has expertise in qualitative research and scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) methodologies. She is currently working on projects related to the professional socialization of doctoral students pursuing careers as faculty in higher education, the self-efficacy of novice athletic trainers, and the role of direct service-learning on the professional development of first year athletic training students within a framework of civic professionalism
