The University of Central Florida (UCF) has established several interdisciplinary clusters to strengthen its academic offerings and research mission. In support of this effort, we are recruiting faculty in the broad area of disability, aging, and technology and plan to hire a tenured associate or full professor of Rehabilitation Sciences for this cluster. The position will be housed in the School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy in the College of Health Professions and Sciences.

The Disability, Aging, and Technology (DAT) cluster is a partnership between six colleges: the College of Health Professions and Sciences, the College of Nursing, the College of Sciences, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, the College of Medicine, and the Nanoscience Technology Center at UCF. This position is interdisciplinary and will be expected to strengthen both the cluster and the candidate’s tenure home (College of Health Professions and Sciences, School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy). Both individual and interdisciplinary infrastructure and competitive startup support will be provided with this new position.
We seek one experienced, senior-level faculty candidate in the field of rehabilitation sciences that can interface with the DAT cluster to establish clinical research for the development and clinical testing of devices with various patient populations. This hire will facilitate in-house clinical validation and assessment for rehabilitative interventions including assistive technology designs originating in other cluster components and facilitate other relevant lines of research in areas of rehabilitation sciences. In addition, it is anticipated that the candidate will take on a leadership role in the DAT cluster as well as in the development of a proposed Ph.D. program in rehabilitation sciences within the new School of Kinesiology and Physical Therapy and its Institute of Exercise Physiology and Wellness.
