The Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for two 9-month academic year tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (45% Teaching, 45% Research, 10% Service).
We seek outstanding candidates with active research programs applying innovative multidisciplinary approaches, including animal/human models of disease and development to the study of physiology. We seek researchers with potential to work with colleagues within the Department and expand upon our current areas of excellence including reproductive physiology, neurophysiology and neurodegeneration as well as toxicology. Candidates will be expected to establish a robust externally funded research program and contribute significantly to the Department's teaching mission, specifically in the Biomedical Physiology undergraduate major. Candidate will mentor graduate and undergraduate students as well as postdoctoral research associates. Duties may include teaching in professional DVM, graduate, or undergraduate courses.
Requirements: Applicants must have a doctoral degree and post-doctoral work in Physiology or a related field. All candidates must also have a publication record appropriate for the rank. Candidates with research interests in cardiovascular, renal, respiratory or gastrointestinal physiology, as well as clinical pharmacology/pharmacokinetics, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should also have a commitment to teaching excellence and prior teaching history is desirable.
