Lecturer 12 Months - Two Positions

The University is also a higher education innovator within the State of New Jersey, partnering with Ocean County College, in Toms River, New Jersey and Brookdale Community College, in Lincroft, New Jersey, to provide access for students to earn a bachelor’s degree from Kean. The Kean Skylands campus, located in Jefferson Township, New Jersey, is designed to serve as an outdoor living laboratory for field-based scientific study and other classroom and field instruction.
We are excited to grow our faculty and invite Lecturer applications for the fall 2024 semester. 12 Month Lecturers are non-tenure track faculty and teach 36 credits for the year. Teaching assignments may be assigned at any of Kean’s New Jersey locations – Union, Ocean, Princeton, Skylands or Kean Online and may include day, evening and weekend courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments.
Lecturers are required to teach, provide student academic support, provide service to the university and community and perform other related faculty responsibilities. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is also required, consistent with University guidelines. 12 Month Lecturers are responsible for performing their teaching and non-teaching responsibilities for the twelve-month period of their appointment.
Nursing - the Department of Nursing at Kean University invites new applications for two full-time, 12 Month Lecturer faculty positions. The Lecturers will teach and evaluate students' didactic and clinical education in the pre-licensure BSN and RN-BSN programs. Teaching specialties include, but may not be limited to: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Maternal Health, Pediatrics, Community Health, Mental Health, and Critical Care. Lecturers also perform other related faculty responsibilities as required.
Qualifications: Master of Science (MSN) degree in Nursing; current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey; and one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. DNP or Ph.D.; a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a nursing education program; and relevant clinical experience is preferred. Other preferred qualifications and experience include: knowledge of ACEN standards of accreditation, curriculum development and assessment, experience with simulation and excellent use of technology in teaching and learning. Out-of-state licensed applicants will also be considered and must apply and receive a New Jersey RN license through reciprocity/endorsement by September 1, 2024. Transportation is required to travel to other locations to instruct students or nurses in the clinical setting. Must have the ability to move large and/or heavy items, such as medical equipment in clinical settings.
