This person will, in addition to their faculty role, serve initially, for a 3-year appointment, as Program Director for the Clinical Psychology PsyD Program. The PsyD program is a five-year, year-round doctoral training program that admitted its first cohort of students in Fall 2013 and obtained accreditation, on contingency from the American Psychological Association in Summer 2018.

The mission of the Clinical Psychology PsyD Program at USF is to offer a rigorous program of study that emphasizes clinical and scholarly work with underserved populations and focuses on training culturally responsive health service psychologists to work in interprofessional, integrated behavioral health settings. Graduates are proficient in the empirical and theoretical underpinnings of integrated, behavioral health interventions while sensitive to contextual, cultural, spiritual, and socioeconomic environments of the individuals and communities. Advancing the Mission of the University of San Francisco, the primary focus is to address disparities in the delivery of physical and mental health services to the underserved and marginalized. The PsyD program is committed to the recruitment and retention of diverse faculty and students. Faculty retention efforts include mentoring, scholarship focus, clinical opportunities, networking and professional development, as well as university level initiatives.
