Risk factors and management of musculoskeletal injuries, mainly low back pain, and the impact of lifestyle behaviours in chronic musculoskeletal pain. In her PhD thesis, she explored the relationship between physical activity and chronic low back pain and the role of health coaching to facilitate behaviour change. This experience allowed her to build extensive knowledge in the chronic pain field as well as in the behaviour change, lifestyle, physical activity and wellbeing area. Dr Amorim is now pursuing research in Mindfulness-based interventions for people with chronic musculoskeletal pain.
