Her research interests fall within the realm of pediatric obesity, specifically assessing parental perceptions of their preschooler's weight status. Her dissertation focused on assessing the perception accuracy of Hispanic parents as determined using an innovative health information technology (HIT) based assessment and intervention tool. Gauthier’s research trajectory includes addressing childhood obesity-related health disparities, and she hopes to expand the use of technology to improve adherence to obesity guidelines and improve parental perceptions of their child’s weight status.
